Glyn Davies, MP for Montgomeryshire, recently joined pupils in Guilsfield Primary School and npower in pledging to become ‘Climate Cops’ by using less energy.

Npower’s Climate Cops programme visits schools across the county to help them become greener, by bringing science and geography to life for pupils. Glyn recently joined Guilsfield Primary School pupils to take part in the scheme, which saw pupils take pledges to become Climate Cops, and spend the day looking at ways they can use less energy.

During the day, pupils were shown simple ways to save energy in an exciting and engaging way, with challenges including generating electricity with body movement, using a thermal imaging camera to see the effects of insulation, identifying ways in which energy can be saved at home and making their pledge to help the environment.

Glyn Davies MP said:

“Climate Cops is a fantastic initiative, which will help young people learn more about where we get our energy from and what it means.

“The pupils from Guilsfield Primary School had a fun day by taking part in interactive activities and team challenges, all of which were designed to inform them about the benefits of using less energy, and how they can do it.

“I was really impressed by the enthusiasm shown by the pupils during the day, and I hope that they will take what they have learned away with them and make a difference to their school and homes.”
