Caerphilly Town is looking blooming fantastic as it has recently been judged for Wales in Bloom 2014.
With over three quarters of the county borough covered in lush countryside with meadows, rivers, farmland, woods and commons, there’s never a shortage of inspiration for garden displays, blossoming baskets and pretty planters.
This year’s delightful displays are more community and volunteer focused than previous years, with a number of businesses, community groups and schools taking part.
The Judge, Mr Jim Goodwin, visited a number of sites around the County Borough including the Twyn School, St Martins Church, Morgan Jones Park Community Allotments, Clive Street in Caerphilly and Castle Court Shopping Centre.
Cllr. Dave Poole, Cabinet Member for Community & Leisure services said, “I’d like to thank everyone involved in making Caerphilly Town and it’s surrounding areas look so beautiful for the Wales in Bloom competition, the baskets, planters and displays are a delight.”
The winners of Wales in Bloom will be revealed at a presentation in Usk in September.
