Denbighshire County Council, in partnership with other North Wales authorities, has been working on a digital hub that will enhance the experience of people visiting the Cathedral at St Asaph.
Over the last two years the Tourism Department has been working with partners in other local authorities across North Wales on the ‘Our Heritage Project’ which was to develop a series of hubs across the new Pilgrims Way.
The new path is a 130 mile route which offers walkers the opportunity to follow in the footsteps of pilgrims. It starts in Holywell and ends in Bardsey Island. Denbighshire County Council contributed to the project with the help of Rural Development Plan Partnership funding and worked closely with the designers to produce exhibition panels and a digital hub in St Asaph Cathedral which is a main stopping off point on the trail. The hub promotes what there is to see and do close to the cathedral to encourage deeper exploration of the area.
Councillor Huw Ll Jones, Lead Member for Tourism, Leisure and Youth said “This is an excellent initiative which will help people visiting the Cathedral at St Asaph to find out information about other places in the locality and brings how we visit places of interest into the digital age.”
