Appeal for Information after Assault in Pontygwindy Road, Caerphilly

GwentpolicePolice are appealing for information following an assault that occurred on Pontygwindy Road, Caerphilly at about 12pm on Monday (July 28th).
 
The assault occurred when the victim – a  cyclist who was travelling toward Asda – got off his bike when he had reached the church on Pontygwindy Road. Two men got out of a car  – believed to have been travelling in the same direction – and assaulted him.

The cyclist, who is 50 and from Caerphilly, went to the Royal Gwent Hospital for treatment for his injuries.

It’s believed there were a number of witnesses to the assault. If anyone has information they are asked to call Gwent Police on 101 quoting log number 424 28/7/14.
