South Wales Police is appealing for witnesses to a serious road traffic collision which occurred at 7.44am on Thursday 14th August 2014 on the A4119 Llantrisant Road near the site of the former Rhydlafar Hospital.
A black Ford Mondeo estate was in collision with a pedal cyclist at the junction with Croft-y-Genau Road.
As a result the 35 year old female cyclist sustained multiple serious injuries and is currently described as critical but stable at the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff.
Anyone who witnessed the collision and who have not yet identified themselves to police are asked to contact on 101 quoting occurrence number 1400298190.
