Children were taken to a magical faraway land as they posed for pictures with a popular TV character.
Parents smiled on as the youngsters were captivated by Lau Lau from the hit television series Waybuloo at Eagles Meadow shopping centre in Wrexham.
The event was the last instalment of the Celebrity Summer at the centre, where youngsters got the chance to meet TV heroes such as Mike the Knight, Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles, Leo and Raph, and legendary firefighter Fireman Sam.
Waybuloo is set in the land of Nara where 3D CGI animated creatures with large heads and eyes called Piplings who practise yogo, a gentle form of exercise similar to yoga in which viewers can participate.
Mum Naomi Tudor, 29, from Wrexham has been to every single Celebrity Summer event with her children William, five and Megan, two.
Naomi said: “The love to see the characters. We’ve come to see the Ninja Turtles, Mike the Knight and Fireman Sam at Eagles Meadow and now we’re her to see Lau Lau from Waybuloo.
“Megan watches Waybuloo and she’s been talking about coming here to meet Lau Lau all week.
William added: “My favourite characters were the Ninja Turtles and my favourite turtle is Raph.
Naomi’s sister Natasha Dodman, 25, from Johnstown, has also been to every Celebrity Summer event with her kids Morgan, three, and Erin, one.
Natasha added: “These events are great for the kids.”
Mum Jenna Darmont, 27, from Wrexham, came to Eagles Meadow with her children Logan, two, and Sophie, three.
Jenna said: “I didn’t remember it was on so it was a lovely surprise for the kids because they watch the show all the time. Sophie really likes Lau Lau.”
Carl Zolman, 37, from Chester, came to see Lau Lau with neice Layla Ellis, four, and his children Jasmine, three, and Xavier, one.
Carl said: “We decided to come to the event because the children watch Waybuloo on the TV and their granddad John read about this in the paper.”
Eagles Meadow manager Kevin Critchley is delighted with how the Celebrity Summer has gone.
He said: “The sun has really shone on Eagles Meadow during the Celebrity Summer, with scores of children coming here to meet their favourite TV characters.
“I was fortunate enough to meet a couple of the Ninja Turtles. I sent a picture of myself with Leo and Raph to my grandson, and he was really impressed.
“Lau Lau’s visit was the perfect way for the sun to set on what has been a fantastic series of events.”
