The Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital for Wales was recently announced as the winner of Project of the Year at the Constructing Excellence Wales (CEW) Awards 2016.
On Friday 15 July, 450 guests attended the 10th annual Constructing Excellence Wales Awards at the Celtic Manor Resort, hosted by Jason Mohammad.
The event was an outstanding celebration of all that is great about Welsh construction and particularly best practice.
The awards are recognised across the Welsh building environment as the biggest and brightest celebration of best practice. They are a clear demonstration of the core strength of construction in Wales and the desire and commitment to deliver buildings, roads, bridges, and facilities of all kinds in a collaborative and sustainable manner. The key factor is that the project, scheme, process or philosophy contributes to the Welsh building environment and can be celebrated as an example of best practice.
Project Director Geoff Walsh, Director of Capital, Estates and Facilities at Cardiff and Vale University Health Board said: “I am delighted that the project has received this prestigious national award. I’m particularly grateful to the team for the dedication and commitment they have shown throughout the project from its inception to completion. This award is very well deserved’
Alison Oliver, Clinical Services Lead for the Noah’s Ark Childrens Hospital for Wales said: “I’d like to say congratulations and well done to the teams from Interserve and the Health Board. Together they have designed and built an amazing facility to help improve the wellbeing and lives of children and their families in Wales.”
The project was also shortlisted for a Health and Safety award and the Client of the Year award.
The project will now go on to compete at the National Constructing Excellence Awards in November.
