Ysgol Esgob Morgan, St Asaph has been re-accredited with the full British Council International School Award.
The award will last until 2019 and recognises the excellent efforts that the school makes to develop global citizenship in their pupils.
The assessment team noted that ‘your global work has impacted positively on teachers, pupils and the community’ and commended the ‘several glowing comments’ from the Schools Inspectorate Estyn relating to Global Learning in the school.
Richard Hatwood, Geography Subject Leader, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to have gained this prestigious award for the second time.
“It is a well-deserved reward for our pupils, staff and the wider community and recognises the importance that the school places on developing a strong awareness of the global citizenship in our pupils. We always aim to instill a belief that geography takes you places and it is clear that our pupils certainly believe this”.
The school has already been re-accredited with the Primary Geography Quality Mark, the Fairtrade School Award and the Eco Schools Awards during the past academic year.
