The Entertainer store at Eagles Meadow shopping centre in Wrexham has donated a cuddly bear worth £100 to Dynamic which provides out of school activities for children and young people with special needs.

Now the bear will be the major prize in a Christmas raffle run by Dynamic to raise much-needed funds to help staff and volunteers continue to provide a lively, safe and stimulating environment.

Karen Clutton, manager of The Entertainer, said: “Each Entertainer store was given a giant teddy to donate to a local charity. We chose to give our bear to Dynamic.

“They now plan to raffle the which is a wonderful and worthy good cause.”

“I hope the teddy goes onto raise a huge amount of money them because the work the charity does to help children and young people with special needs is fantastic and they thoroughly deserve our support.”

Carol Gardner, Dynamic’s charity manager, is extremely grateful to the staff of The Entertainer at Eagles Meadow for choosing to support Dynamic.

She said: “It really is wonderful that staff of The Entertainer have thought of Dynamic first as a great local cause to support. It means a great deal to us.

“The teddy bear is absolutely gorgeous and lots of our young people have fallen madly in love with it. In fact there is a big debate going on as they try to think of a suitable name for him!

“The teddy bear will now be the major prize in our Christmas raffle as we look to raise as much money as we can so we can continue supporting young people from the Wrexham area who suffer from a range of disabilities, intellectual or sensory impairments and even life-limiting illnesses.”

She added: “Currently we are supporting 96 young people aged between eight and 19 all with a range of complex disabilities. These young people all come from the Wrexham and surrounding area.

“In addition to those young people we are currently running a transition project for young people aged 14 to 25 so they can find employment and perhaps live on their own.

“Dynamic is the only provider of its type in the region. We hold after school groups, clubs and a Saturday group as well as a range of activities during school holidays and a major summer programme of activities too.”

Eagles Meadow manager Kevin Critchley said: “I’m delighted to hear that staff members at The Entertainer are once again supporting a very worthy local good cause.

“I know how important Dynamic is as a local charity and the fabulous work that goes on there in supporting young people from the Wrexham area who have special needs.”

“I’m always astounded by the amount of charity work staff from Eagles Meadow shops get up to whether it’s running raffles, sponsored walks or having heads shaved. I think it shows the important role staff members play within the community.”
