Blaenau Gwent Council have tackled the problem of main road potholes head on.
The Council’s Highways teams carried out a three day operation to patch the worst potholes and make the roads safe.
Coun Don Wilcox, Blaenau Gwent Council’s Executive Member for Regeneration and Highways said:
“Across the UK an estimated two million potholes opened up due to the snow and the big freeze.
“In Blaenau Gwent, we filled in dozens of potholes – using around 50 tonnes of bitumen macadam asphalt.
“We concentrated our temporary ‘patching’ repairs on all the priority roads to make them safe for motorists – we hope to get started on permanent repairs soon.”
