Care practitioner Cath Jones has a truly winning smile.
Cath, 21, from Rossett, has been named as a champion smiler at the Pendine Park care organisation.
Her beaming smile and sunny disposition lights up the lives of residents and colleagues at the Highfield care home in Wrexam.
She has been voted the most cheerful member of staff at Pendine Park’s Wrexham care homes.
She received her award – and a trophy shared with Andrew Roberts who works at the company’s Caernarfon home, Bryn Seiont Newydd – when Pendine Park which employs over 800 staff across North Wales held a special celebration at their Wrexham headquarters.
Cath received an overwhelming vote of support from their work colleagues, residents and visitors at Highfield care home, in Wrexham, where she is based.
The 21-year-old, who is expecting her first child with her partner, has been with Pendine Park for two years after joining on work experience, and she said: “I always thought I would enjoy working here and I do.
“Hopefully if I’ve got a smile on my face it can make other people happy and I love everything about looking after the residents.
“Highfield is such a lovely place and everyone is so friendly so it’s fantastic to know that I’m able to make a difference to the people at the home and getting this award shows I’m doing my job right.”
Pendine Park director Gill Hughes said: “The Smile awards recognise the people nominated by staff, residents and their families and other visitors to our homes and offices.
“We aim to reward those people who in good times and bad don’t lose sight of the importance of smiling and laughing and who inspire others through their warmth and their kindness.
“A resident said that Cath is always cheerful not matter how busy she is and other colleagues say she has the best smile and always cheers colleagues and residents up.”
Highfield manager Tracey Smith said: “As a care organisation we need and look for the very best people. And to be awarded the Smile Award you need to stand out among outstanding people.
“The Smile Award nominations come from fellow care practitioners, residents and their families.
“The comments made alongside Catherine’s nomination were extraordinary and the award is richly deserved. I hope she continues to forge a successful career as a care practitioner here at Pendine Park.”
