The 34 year old man from the Tredegar area arrested on suspicion of death by dangerous driving following an incident yesterday, Sunday 21st February in Ystrad Deri – Tredegar, remains in police custody being questioned.
Two males tobogganing on a plastic sheet of material on a grass bank came off the banking onto an area of Chartist Way, known locally as Armoury Hill, where they collided with a car. It happened at approximately 4.10pm.
The driver of the car did not stop and the two males were discovered by a member of the public. A 20 year old man from the Bettws area was pronounced dead at the scene. The other man, a 23 year old from the Tredegar area, was taken to the Nevill Hall Hospital with head injuries where he is described as being in a stable condition.
