Commenting on today’s figures showing an 8% rise in the number of children on child protection registers in Wales, Shadow Health Minister Andrew RT Davies AM said:
“The safety of vulnerable children is absolutely critical, particularly in the wake of the Baby P case.
“The decision to place a child on a protection register is not taken lightly and will only be done for good reason.
“What is important is that as a civilised society we do everything we can to protect vulnerable children, support those working with them, and make it as hard as possible for evil individuals to inflict harm.”
