Parents won’t have to dig into the deep ends of their wallets so much this spring as many children’s swimming lessons at the Vale of Glamorgan’s leisure centres are now half price.
Children who are learning to swim at the advanced levels seven and above can take hour-long lessons from £3.75 – the same price as the half hour lessons available for beginners.
The Vale Council’s cabinet member for leisure and tourism, Cllr Anthony Ernest, said: “By rewarding swimmers who have the dedication to learn at advanced levels with hour long lessons for the price of a half hour lesson we hope they will be able to develop their swimming ability even further, maybe even to a competitive standard.”
Swimming lessons are available for complete beginners to advanced levels at the leisure centres in Barry, Penarth and Llantwit Major, and are run in blocks of ten weeks. You can now register your child for the next block of lessons, which begin on Monday 1 March.
Lessons can either be paid for by Direct Debit payments from £15.65 a month, or in ten week blocks from £37.50. To find out more, please call into your nearest leisure centre or go online at www.valeofglamorgan.gov.uk/leisurecentres.
