The two winning books chosen by the readers of Glynneath are Dial M for Merthyr by Rachel Trezise and Y Llyfrgell by Fflur Dafydd.
Residents of Glynneath have chosen the winner of the Big Read 10 competition.
Both writers will be presented with their prize by local celebrity Max Boyce, who has supported the campaign.
The Big Read 10 is a reading community project which stems from the Welsh Books Council who provided the funding. Taking part reinforces the Council’s commitment to regenerate its valley communities.
The campaign aimed to promote and raise the profile of reading. It involved setting up a voting campaign across the community for the village to choose their best book from Wales.
Back in November, the residents in Glynneath were invited to choose their best book both from a Welsh and English shortlist.
The winners will be presented with their award on Wednesday (March 24th) at Glynneath library. (7pm)
Congratulating the winners, Council Leader, Ali Thomas, said, “Big Read 10 has been hugely successful in encouraging reading for pleasure in Glynneath and many events have been held for adults and children.
“The two winning books represent the best of writing from Wales and we are delighted to present the prize to Rachel and Fflur.
“We are equally delighted that Max Boyce is endorsing the Prize.”
