Local AM’s delight as Pyramid Conman is found guilty

Plaid AM Helen Mary Jones has expressed her delight that fraudster Kevin Foster has been found guilty of running a £34m pyramid scheme that affected many constituents in the Llanelli area.

Kevin Foster was yesterday convicted of charges of dishonestly concealing a material fact and theft, and will face a lengthy jail sentence.

Llanelli AM Helen Mary Jones said:

“I’m very pleased that justice has been done, and that this conman who has ruined so many lives, will face a lengthy jail sentence.

Many vulnerable people in communities to include Llanelli suffered unfairly and I still find it  shocking how he deliberately targeted those on low incomes.

I saw and offered my help to many local constituents who fell victims to this conman’s awful scheme. Many of the people that came to see me had invested their life savings to this scheme, and lives have been ruined as a result.

My message to people is simple – If something sounds too good to be true, then it probably is.
Victims who lost money and savings to Kevin Foster’s scheme can register with the Financial Services Authority as one of his creditors. But people shouldn’t be under any illusion that they’ll get the full amount of money owing to them as a result.

If anyone needs any help registering with the FSA, I’d encourage them to come and see me or a member of my team at my office.”
