People in Amlwch and the surrounding areas are being invited to come and meet members of their local Neighbourhood Policing Team at an event being held in the area.
Neighbourhood Community Beat Manager PC Dafydd Pritchard and Community Support Officer Gwyn Rowlands will be available for members of the local community to have a chat about any community issues they have.
The first meeting will be held at the Dinorben Hotel on Thursday, March 18th between 1pm and 3pm.
The second meeting will be held the following week on Monday, March 22nd between 6pm and 8pm.
PC Dafydd Pritchard said: “We are committed to asking you what is important, doing something about it, but also telling you what we have done.
“These meetings are an important part of that process. Local priorities will be agreed and we will update you concerning the actions we have taken. The meetings also give you the opportunity to have your say in determining those priorities.”
Over recent weeks the team have tackled various issues of concern in the community.
Complaints have been received regarding speeding motorists in the Amlwch area as well as in the surrounding villages. This has been confirmed with assistance from the Road Safety Partnership who, using a traffic measuring device has identified a number of vehicles travelling at excess speed along the roads.
Working in partnership with Anglesey County Council’s Speed Enforcement Officer, the local policing team will be holding a speed awareness day in the area on the 17th of March.
A dog owner’s awareness day is also in the process of being arranged in conjunction with Anglesey County Council’s Dog Warden, following complaints of dog fouling in the area.
Officers will be educating dog owners to take responsibility and will also be conducting regular foot patrols to try and identify those who are responsible for allowing their dogs to foul on the pavements. A zero-tolerance approach will be undertaken and anyone caught will be liable to receive a fixed penalty ticket.
Residents, business owners and community representatives with an interest in improving the quality of life in their area are being encouraged to attend the meetings.
