Police have confirmed that two people have died following a road traffic collision on the A5 in Chirk this afternoon (Monday, 22nd March).
At 16:23 police received a report of a collision on the bridge of the A5 involving two lorries and two cars.
A lorry driver and one of the car drivers were pronounced dead at the scene.
One of the lorries was carrying livestock and as a result of the collision cattle have been killed.
West Mercia Police and North Wales Police are currently at the scene. The road is closed and is expected to remain closed until at least tomorrow. Diversions are in place and traffic is being diverted through Chirk.

It is expected that the road will remain closed for the forseeable future.
