The first ever family cycle ride through the new, green valley at The Works: Ebbw Vale raised money for In The Pink, the Blaenau Gwent breast cancer charity last week.
For one day only, parents and children could enjoy a gentle cycle ride along a two kilometre trail around the 200 acre site – one of the biggest regeneration projects in the UK. It was the first public event at The Works which will host the National Eisteddfod of Wales from 31 July to 8 August 2010.
The cyclists were flagged away by Coun John Mason, Deputy Leader of Blaenau Gwent Council, and Coun John Williams, Mayor of Blaenau Gwent.
The Works: Ebbw Vale is a partnership between the Welsh Assembly Government and Blaenau Gwent Council.
