Gwynedd Community Chest Fund gives a sporting chance

Gwynedd sports clubs are celebrating after the latest round of Gwynedd Community Chest funding has been allocated.

Ten clubs, ranging from traditional sports such as golf and football to new opportunities such as taekwondo and Nordic walking, will benefit from the grants, which will help support sports development across the county.

The Sportlot Community grants are funded by Sport Wales.

David Lloyd-Williams, Gwynedd Council Sports Development Officer, said: “We are delighted that Gwynedd Council is able to release £7,590 to the various clubs, and so many different sorts of sports from all corners of the county are set to benefit.

“We all know the benefits that these clubs bring – it is not just the opportunity to keep fit and active, but also the chance to make new friends and be a part of a community.”

He added: “Clubs and sporting associations can apply for grants of up to £1,000 through this scheme, I would urge anyone who is interested to contact us for more information.”
