North Wales AM Eleanor Burnham today called on the First Minister, Carwyn Jones, to make youth services a priority in Wales.
Commenting, Welsh Liberal Democrat AM Eleanor Burnham said:
“It has become clear that services to young people need to be better supported and funded.
“I sit on the Communities and Culture Committee, and our recent investigation into the experiences of young people in custody highlighted a severe lack of joined-up thinking in Wales’ approach to vulnerable young people.
“The First Minister promised in his leadership manifesto that he would carry out a review of youth services right across Wales to make sure that they are fit for purpose.
“I look forward to the commencement of this work and to the implementation of appropriate support and funding mechanisms that will benefit our young people”.
