Visitors to Flat Holm island this weekend will need little luggage as a special trip by British Naturism, the UK’s official naturists’ society, has been organised.
Forty-five naturists will tour the island on Saturday April 24 and take the opportunity to enjoy Flat Holm.
The tour has been organised by Andrea and Phil Griffiths who are members of both the Flat Holm Society and British Naturism.
As part of the tour, the society will sample a wealth of history and wildlife, and have the opportunity to relax and enjoy the island’s atmosphere with a cup of tea or coffee.
Executive Member, for Sport, Culture and Leisure, Cllr Nigel Howells, said: “This will be the first time British Naturism has visited Flat Holm. I hope they enjoy their tour and that the weather will be kind to them over on the island.”
Andrea Griffiths said: “I have been going over there as a volunteer for over twenty years and have been trying to get this trip organised for at least four years. I am delighted to be given the opportunity to share it with fellow naturists and I am sure they will appreciate the tranquillity and peaceful atmosphere of the island and want to come back again and again. It will be nice to share something of the island’s colourful history with visitors, too.”
