The ‘Friends of St Davids’ RNLI Lifeboat’ held their annual general meeting (AGM) on Monday 26th April at St Davids’ RNLI Lifeboat Station. It was announced on the evening that the branch had raised £21,147.20 for the local RNLI lifeboat station up until the 31 December 2009.
Jim Phillips, RNLI Lifeboat Press Officer says:
‘This is a big achievement and will help greatly towards funding the St Davids’ RNLI Lifeboat Station. The RNLI is a charity and does not receive government funding, this is why all the hard work and commitment by local fundraising branches are essential to support our volunteer lifeboat crew and will help them carry on their lifesaving work.’
Colin Williams (RNLI Inspector of Lifeboats for the West Division) and Beverley Rosser-Smith (Area Fundraising Manager) were present at the St Davids’ AGM. They both gave a talk on the operational side of the RNLI and fundraising ideas. Also a new committee was elected during the meeting.
If anyone would like to be a part of the fundraising team or would like to help in any way, please contact the Lifeboat Station on 01437 720215.
