Lifeboat tows stricken craft

St Davids RNLI all-weather lifeboat was launched to aid pleasure craft ‘Aint She Sweet’ on Sunday May 2 at 11:20am. Two persons were on board the pleasure craft.

The casualty was in a position to the south end of Ramsey Island, and had suffered drive shaft failure. On scene and monitoring the situation was Lifeboat Deputy Launching Authority Tony Pearce in his boat “Kimberley Jane”.

The RNLI lifeboat was on scene within 10 minutes and set about attaching a towline to ‘Aint She Sweet’. The casualty was then towed to safety of Porthclais Harbour.

On reaching the entrance of the harbour the tow was passed to the “Kimberley Jane” who secured the casualty onto a mooring.

The lifeboat then proceeded back to station and was rehoused at 12:48pm.
