Keep Your School Bus Pass

Secondary school pupils throughout Rhondda Cynon Taf are being encouraged to keep hold of their bus passes at the end of term, as they will continue to be valid from September 2010.

Only those pupils starting in a secondary school for the first time and who are eligible for free transport will be issued with a new pass – these will be distributed by the schools in September.

Anyone who loses or disposes of their current buss pass will be charged £5 to replace it. Pupils are reminded that they cannot travel on the Home to School Transport Scheme run by Rhondda Cynon Taf Council without a valid pass.

Rhondda Cynon Taf
Council’s Cabinet Member for Transport and Customer Care Cllr Andrew Morgan said: “Bus passes for school transport were due to be replaced at the end of this school year. However, the plastic cards are proving to be very durable so to reduce waste and to save time and public money producing and distributing over 7,000 new passes, we have decided that pupils will continue to use their current cards next year.”
