Flintshire County Council has unveiled the format for Flintshire Business Week – October 13 – 19 – at a launch evening attended by 90 businesses at the Northop Hall Country House Hotel on April 27.
This year, five is the magic number for the event, held over five days, on five themes and at five venues.
Keynote speakers this year will include the Bank of England’s Neil Ashbridge and Ieuan Wyn Jones, Deputy First Minister for Wales. A panel of MPs will form a Question Time panel, sponsored by the Confederation of British Industry (CBI).
The timetable is as follows:
Wednesday, October 13, People in Business at the Beaufort Park Hotel, New Brighton, Mold
Thursday, October 14, Innovation and Technology at Airbus, Broughton
Friday, October 15, Business to Business at the Northop Hall Country House Hotel, Northop Hall
Monday, October 18, Environment at UPM Shotton Paper, Shotton
Tuesday, October 19, Finance at the Springfield Hotel, Halkyn
With a number of large manufacturing industries in the county, business is an important part of Flintshire life and Flintshire County Council’s Head of Regeneration, Dave Heggarty, said that the manufacturing sector is likely to take the lead in pulling the county out of the UK-wide recession.
Sponsors of Flintshire Business Awards for 2010 include the Federation of Small Businesses, UPM Shotton Paper, Careers Wales, Tourism Partnership North Wales, B2 Business Systems, Parkway Telecom, Gardners Accountants, Kingspan and AGS Security Systems.
