Residents who visited Powys County Council’s Customer Service Points (CSPs) last month might have noticed a large police presence.
Dyfed Powys Police were there to use desks at Llandrindod Wells, Newtown and Welshpool CSPs while their reception facilities at their stations were refurbished.
Cllr Russell George, Board Member responsible for Customer Services, said: “Our CSPs aim to be first-stop-shops so by providing contact with the police though these location, even on a temporary basis, made them even more useful for the public.
“It briefly complemented the partnership work our Customer Services Team already does with Dyfed Powys Police. In the Newtown CSP, there is a fortnightly community policing surgery while the Llanidloes CSP acts as a permanent Police Contact Point for the town.”
