The male arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving following a serious road traffic collision on the A48 at Mathern near to the New Inn Public House has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
The collision happened at approximately 8.45pm on Monday 17th May 2010.
A Peugeot 106 car, red in colour, left the carriageway and collided with an adjacent wall.
The 16 year old female passenger from the Chepstow area received serious injuries in the incident and remains in the Royal Gwent Hospital, Newport where her condition is described as critical but stable.
The female driver also from the Chepstow area was also conveyed to the Royal Gwent with serious injuries and she is stable.
