Wales National Pool Swansea has teamed up with staff from Swansea city centre’s Premiere Inn who are attempting to raise cash for Water Aid.
On Sunday October 25 around 10 members of staff for the hotel will be taking the plunge at the Swansea pool and swimming for 12 hours to raise cash for WaterAid.
The international charity saves thousands of children’s lives every year by enabling the world’s poorest people to gain access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene education.
Whitbread, which owns Premier Inn and pub restaurants Beefeater, Brewers Fayre, Table Table and Taybarns, is aiming to raise £1 million for WaterAid in the next two years through a series of fundraising activities.
Premier Inn Swansea City Centre Administrator/Lead Receptionist Jenny Cope said: “We wanted to do a water based challenge for the event and the Wales National Pool seemed the ideal venue.
“We hope that people will support us.”
Jane Draper, General Manager of the Wales National Pool Swansea, said: “We are delighted to be the chosen location for this attempt and our staff have experience in supporting people in such attempts. We will be able to accommodate the Swimathon while remaining open as usual to our customers.”
