In the early hours of Saturday morning North Wales Ambulance Service received a call stating that a male had collapsed in the Sydney Street area of Flint.
North Wales Police attended the scene and established that a male person had been assaulted and had received serious head injuries. The male has now been transferred to Walton Hospital where his injuries are described as critical but stable.
A 21 year old male from the Flint area has been arrested and has been charged with a wounding offence in connection with this assault. He will appear before court on Monday morning where an application will be made to remand him in custody.
Police are appealing for any witnesses who may have witnessed the assault to make contact with North Wales Police on 101.
