Would you enjoy spending a couple of hours helping improve the condition of your local beach and learning about the coastal wildlife at the same time? If so, there’s a week-long timetable of events that are right up your street.
From Saturday, 26 June to Saturday, 3 July there will be a whole host of various events taking place on Gwynedd’s beaches and you’re welcome to in the fun.
The Turning Tide project is a partnership between organisations, volunteer groups and individuals, including Gwynedd Council, Keep Wales Tidy, and Tidy Towns, whose support grant has made the project possible.
The project aims to tackle the problem of litter along the coastline as well as raising awareness of the Pen Llyn a’r Sarnau Special Area of Conservation. The area is home to many rare species such as the otter, bottlenosed dolphin and grey seals, as well as many other creatures.
