Newport City Council needs your help in naming the new leisure centre being built in Bettws – and you could be in with a change of winning an iPod Nano.
A new state of the art leisure centre will be opened in Bettws in November. The new leisure facility is part of the £28 million Newport High School development and will replace the existing Bettws leisure centre that has been open since 1974.
The centre will include state of the art facilities including a 25 metre swimming pool, changing village with family and disabled facilities and a fitness suite with the latest CV and resistance equipment.
There will also be a dance studio with a sprung floor to house aerobics and dance activities and sports hall for badminton, indoor football, basketball, netball, indoor cricket and many more.
In addition, there will be a community room available for meetings and children’s parties.
The leisure centre also boasts a floodlit Astro Turf pitch (for football and hockey) and a multi-use games area.
To be in with a chance of winning a brand new 8GB iPod Nano, think of a name for the new building and enter it at their website www.newport.gov.uk/leisure
