Deeside 41 Club recently made a visit to the Flint RNLI Lifeboat Station, where they were introduced to the volunteer crew, shown the kit, and the inshore lifeboat.
The 41 Club were so impressed with what they saw, and heard, they decided to say thank the RNLI by holding a raffle amongst the members. The raffle and a collection raised a £100 for the charity, which was presented to the station last Thursday.
41 Club Chairman, Ralph Small, said:
‘We were amazed at the dedication of this small band of volunteers, and were delighted to help.’
Richard Polden volunteer RNLI Press Officer for Flint RNLI said:
‘The RNLI are really grateful to 41 Club for their support. We rely on voluntary contributions to continue with our work, and to have the support of the community in this way is vital. On the 4th July from 1pm we are holding our annual dog show, and the lifeboat station will be open to visitors.
