Abersoch RNLI launched to fatal incident

At 8.10pm on Sunday, June 27, Abersoch RNLI launched their inshore lifeboat (ILB) to reports of a man having been pulled from the sea on to the rocks below the South Caernarfonshire Yacht Club at Abersoch.

The ILB was on scene in two minutes and a volunteer crewman attended to the casualty. The casualty was immediately transferred to the beach to waiting paramedics, police and the local coastguard.

A helicopter had been called and was on scene, but was stood down after the paramedics found no response from the casualty to their attempts at resuscitation.

The police requested that the casualty be taken to the boathouse on the ILB for later transferral to Ysbyty Gwynedd.
