Pupils from Ysgol Glannau Gwaun in Fishguard stepped out to school last week.
The youngsters put their best feet forward for a walk-to-school initiative.
Organised by the primary school and Pembrokeshire County Council, the walk was part of an initiative looking at ways of reducing car travel within the town.
The school, County Council and local community are in the process of preparing a Safe Routes in Communities bid to the Welsh Assembly.
Councillor Sian James, Cabinet Member for Health and Well-bring, who accompanied the youngsters on their walk, said that if the new bid were to be successful new safer walking and cycling routes would be set up within Fishguard.
“Hopefully this will encourage people to leave their cars at home and walk and cycle around the town,” she said. “This will improve our local environment at a time when there is increasing concern that people are not active enough in their daily lives.”
