Cardiff Council’s Active Card scheme offers great value for money for those wanting to get fit and improve health and wellbeing.
The Active Card allows access to 12 council leisure facilities throughout the city with health and fitness suites, swimming pools, fitness classes, racquet sports, athletics, cycling facilities and much more for your use.
The scheme is a straightforward way of paying for leisure and saving the customer money during the current economic climate. Many private gyms offer high joining fees with costly monthly payments; an Active Card offers real value for money starting from just £19.50 a month for adults with no hidden charges or joining fees.
Many council leisure facilities have undergone refurbishments over the years, transforming buildings into light contemporary environments accessible to all members of the family. With all the very latest exercise equipment available, a team of highly qualified experienced staff at each site will ensure everyone is given the support they need while they keep fit.
There are six types of Active Card available, with just one monthly payment. The Full Active card includes unlimited use of the council’s swimming pool’s, fitness classes and fitness suites. A Student Active offers a 50 per cent discount (subject to terms and conditions) and an All Action Active for young people under 16 offers unlimited access to all casual, course and holiday activities and swimming.
Councillor Nigel Howells, Executive Member for Sport, Leisure and Culture said: “The many refurbishments to our facilities demonstrates the council’s commitment to improve leisure facilities and help people lead healthier lifestyles. We are pleased to be able to provide the Active Card scheme which offers value for money and will attract many more people into getting active and keeping fit.”
