Barmouth entrepreneur helps green-fingered school garderers

Barmouth-born Ross Porter has gone back to his old primary school to help green-fingered pupils grow their gardening skills.

Ross Porter, Managing Director of Draig Business Services based in Caerphilly, South Wales, donated £50 to help the newly established pupil gardening  at Ysgol-y-Traeth, Barmouth, and is now urging other businesses to follow suit.

Ross Porter said: “I had many happy years at Ysgol-y-Traeth and when I heard of the good work and progress the school has made under head-teacher Ywain  Myfyr, I wanted to play my part.

“Growing your own produce is a great way to enjoy quality food and keep fit at the same time, so I think a gardening club for pupils is a superb idea. I hope many pupils will go on to grow their own outside school.

“I’d like to see other businesses in Barmouth also come forward to support this great initiative. It does not  involve a lot of money but can make a huge difference.”
