Burry Port’s Atlantic Blue Peter II’s First Service Call

The crew of the charter boat had been rescued by Tenby Lifeboat but unfortunately the boat had sunk before the lifeboat was able to secure a marker buoy to it. In the darkness the Tenby Lifeboat was unable to find it again and it was far more important to recover the five on board the sunken boat to a warm dry place.

The Burry Port Atlantic Blue Peter II was tasked to the position of the sunken boat as it was floating just below the surface and was considered a danger to other boats. The Tenby Lifeboat had taken note of the position of the boat and Dyfed Powys Police helicopter was able to fly over the boat’s position and guide the Atlantic on to the boat.

The Atlantic was able to attach a marker buoy to the bow of the boat to enable the owner to recover it later in the day.

The Atlantic was crewed by: – Owain Davies, Justin Pugh and Phillip Morgan.
