Ruthin Gaol Museum is always a good day out for the family but it will have some extra special guests on Thursday 19th August. It’s a chance for you to meet prisoners, officers and some other surprising people!
Costumed re-enactors will tell the stories of the prisoners’ lives and crimes and even their music! Come and meet our most famous criminals – and the warders who have to lock them up!
Meet Grace Jones, soon to be transported to Australia, Thomas Armitage, awaiting his fate over the seas, Anne Williams, the local woman locked up for stealing. The Gaol Matron, Johanna Walmsley and the Warder, Officer Edward Humphreys, along with other guests will share their stories of the Victorian prison.
As well as this very special event, you can enjoy the historic atmosphere of the Gaol and children can explore the cells and enjoy the interactive displays.
Wednesday activity afternoons for children will also run on the 18th and 25th of August between 2 – 4 pm.
Prices start at £3.50 adults, £2.50 concessions and £10 for a bargain family ticket.
