On Friday August 13th at 2:40pm the St David’s RNLI inshore lifeboat (ILB), under the command of helmsman William Chant, launched on service to the aid of a 10 foot dinghy which had suffered engine failure.
The dinghy which had three teenagers on board (one female and two males) were in a position approximately one nautical off the shore between Nine Wells and Solva. The inshore lifeboat was on scene within 15 minutes and after checking that the teenagers did not require any medical assistance, the RNLI volunteers took the dinghy under tow back to the safety of Solva Harbour.
After making sure that all were safely ashore, the inshore lifeboat returned to station and re-housed at 4:05pm.
