Wales full back Non Evans has been ruled out of the final game of the Women’s World Cup in Guildford due to injury.
The experienced full back had been receiving treatment for an ongoing injury which she sustained in the New Zealand fixture.
The 87-times capped Cardiff Quin was unable to take part in the captain’s run prior to the Swedish clash to determine which side would go through to contest the play-off place for ninth and 10th in the tournament.
“It’s really frustrating to pick up the injury and I’m really gutted,” said Evans. “I kept getting a bang on the leg in the same place in every game and it just wasn’t getting any better. It’s a disappointing way to finish the tournament for me.”
