One of the world’s best harness racing drivers will compete in S4C’s live Crock of Gold final on Rasus on Monday, 6 September 21:30 (English subtitles).
Jodie Jameson will drive the record-breaking horse Doonbeg in the prestigious final in The Champions’ Evening at the Tir Prince race track, Towyn.
This will be the highlight of S4C’s Champions Night to be broadcast live and exclusive on the last Rasus programme of the 2010 season.
Jody Jamieson is Canada’s best driver and is a former World Champion. He drove Doonbeg as a 3 year old at the 2006 Little Brown Jug in Delaware Ohio in the USA.
Doonbeg recently smashed the UK record in a live Rasus meeting at Tairgwaith near Ammanford, recording an unprecedented 1:53.7 for the mile. He was already a divisional world record holder for three-year-olds over a mile.
Doonbeg will be up against another seven horses in the grand final – Earned Income, Crown Manhattan, Forafewdollarsmore, Wexford Beach, Stoneriggs Chris, Cutchall Hanover and Scoot Around.
The finals will also include the Trot Britain Final One Mile Free For All, Billy Williams Memorial One Mile Free For All and the Welsh Cup Final One Mile Free For All.
