Gwent Police is appealing for information following a robbery that occurred at approximately 11.30am on Monday 13th September.
An 80 year old female was pulled to the floor on Somerset Road by a male who made off with her handbag.
The female suffered cuts and bruises and was taken to the Royal Gwent Hospital, she was released later the same day.
The offender is described as white, aged between 30 and 35 years old, approximately 5’8″ – 5’11” tall, and of thin build. He is bald, has a thin face and was clean shaven. He was wearing faded blue jeans and a jacket.
Following enquiries officers have established that the offender had followed the female out of the Post Office on Caerleon Road onto Somerset Road before committing the robbery.
