Service users at the Ty Mor Adult Mental Health Service in Rhyl, are looking forward to plenty of fresh air and tasty food thanks to grant funding for an allotment project.
The team was successful in securing a £1,400 Denbighshire Well Being Activity Grant, which will provide all the equipment necessary to set up the allotment on land close to the centre and give service users the chance to enjoy exercise, fresh air and outside occupation, healthy eating and a host of other benefits.
The group, which has been growing veg in planters at Ty Mor to date, will be tending the allotments but will also be learning a wide variety of other skills such as jam making and cooking with the produce.
Angela MacDonald, manager at Ty Mor said: “We are delighted with this grant and that we can now get to work on the allotment.
“It will have so many positive benefits for our service users. It’s a very exciting time for us.”
