Support for businesses

Businesses within the Caerphilly county borough can access a grant scheme to help their ventures develop and grow.

The Caerphilly Business Development Grant provides financial support to help eligible new or existing businesses located within the county borough.

Cllr Ron Davies, CCBC cabinet member for regeneration said, “In these increasingly tough economic times we are keen to ensure that local firms can access much-needed help and support. The council offers a range of assistance for the local business community and this grant scheme is a welcome addition to our package of support. I would encourage any businesses who think they may be eligible to get in touch and find out more.”

The grant is a flexible scheme designed to complement existing sources of grant funding. SMEs with under 250 employees and/or business start-ups in all business sectors may be considered (excluding retail).

Eligible costs could include: –

  • Capital Equipment
  • E-Commerce and ICT
  • Marketing
  • Feasibility Studies
  • Business Planning (where required to apply for other public sector funding)

The business must be established in the Caerphilly county borough or the individual must be a resident of the area and is setting up the business within the area.

Expenditure incurred prior to grant approval is not eligible. The grant can provide up to 50% of eligible expenditure up to a maximum of £2,000. Award of Grant is entirely at the discretion of Caerphilly County Borough Council.

Those businesses that are eligible to apply for other sources of funding will not be considered under this grant scheme.
