Fast-rising Welsh band Mabon to play Cardiff Castle, Copenhagen and Celtic Connections

Mabon are a Welsh band who are going places – first to Cardiff Castle to perform at the First Minister of Wales’s special Ryder Cup dinner (Sat Oct 2), then to Copenhagen (Saty, Oct 30) where they will represent Wales at the WOMEX world music trade fair and next January to the world’s largest winter music festival – Glasgow’s Celtic Connections.

The South Wales six-piece who were one of the highest CD-selling bands at the famous Cropredy Festival last month (despite a Friday 13th jinx which temporarily left half the band stranded near the Severn Bridge), will get national radio airplay on BBC Radio 3’s “World on 3” in October.

They kick off a UK tour at Wrexham on Oct 7 which will also take in gigs at Presteigne Assembly Rooms (Oct 9)and Cardiff’s The Globe (Nov 4) and on October 25 they release their stunning debut live album recorded at The Grand Pavilion, Porthcawl, together with bonus DVD.
