Ysgol Frongoch celebrates good Estyn report

Following a recent inspection of the school, Estyn inspectors reported that Ysgol Frongoch in Denbigh ‘is a school with many good features’.

The report states that outstanding features are identified in the learning experiences provided for pupils. The curriculum is supported by an outstanding range of interesting and stimulating additional experiences both within the school and offsite, for example residential visits.

Another outstanding feature of the school is in the quality of care, support and guidance and all pupils are exceptionally well supported by the adults who work in the school as well as by an extensive range of external agencies.

The report states that the provision for pupils’ social, moral, spiritual and cultural development is good with many outstanding features and this is well planned for and a strong feature of school life.  Work related education and the development of entrepreneurial skills is strong and well established.

Headteacher Ruth Thackray said, “I am pleased with our inspection report we have achieved some excellent results and we will continue to work together to further improve the learning experiences for our children.  I am proud of the children, staff, governors and volunteers who have made this such a happy and successful community school. I am also pleased that the report acknowledges our close working relationship with parents as an outstanding feature.”
