Mohammad Asghar, National Assembly Member for South Wales East, has emphasised the importance of bringing down the educational attainment gap between children and young people who are deaf and those who are not.
Mr Asghar told the Minister for Children, Education & Lifelong Learning that “statistics from recent years suggest a significant attainment gap at every Key Stage – suggesting that action is required at all levels”.
He added: “While I welcome recent Welsh Assembly Government support for events which raise awareness, it is clear significant work remains to be done”.
