Plaid Cymru members have chosen their South Wales Central list candidates for next May’s crucial Welsh General Election.
Hundreds of party members took part in the selection process which saw Leanne Wood, Chris Franks, Delme Bowen and Richard Grigg selected as Plaid candidates for the region. Leanne Wood will lead the Plaid team on the list, with Chris Franks second, Delme Bowen third and Richard Grigg fourth.
Lead candidate Leanne Wood said:
“I’m delighted to have maintained the confidence of members in South Wales Central and to lead an excellent team of candidates into next year’s election campaign.
“I’m confident the strength and quality of our candidates will ensure a good result for Plaid Cymru across the region.
“We all intend to work hard and pull together to deliver maximum benefits for the people of our region,” added Leanne Wood, who was first elected to the National Assembly in 2003.
She said: “As candidates we will be campaigning hard in our communities across to show that Plaid is the party with an ambitious plan for the coming election.”
