Plaid Cymru AM and Welsh Sports Minister, Alun Ffred Jones, today congratulated the European team on their success in the Ryder Cup:
“I am delighted that Europe has won the Ryder Cup, my congratulations go to the team. And the success doesn’t end with the golf. Hosting the cup here in Wales was an opportunity for us to showcase our nation to the world and I believe that this has been a huge success as well. There has been hugely favourable feedback, despite the weather, and as well as the players, I would like to congratulate all of those involved in hosting and organising the event.
“The fantastic ending, going down to the very final game, will make this Ryder Cup all the more memorable. I am sure people from across the world will have fond memories of Wales and the Celtic Manor and hopefully it will act as a springboard for future success for Welsh tourism and business.”
